FSW2006 (A Late Entry)

Due to schedule conflicts and a busy holiday season, this year’s Father/Son Weekend was almost cancelled. Thanks to the determination of Pastor Tony (and a generous contribution of my friend’s cabin) we forged ahead with another great weekend with the guys who were able to make it.

My friend’s little cabin in the woods (as he calls it) was a spacious three bedrooms (plus a loft with two additional beds) , three bathrooms, furnished kitchen and dining area (overlooking a pond) in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania.

Present and accounted for were Tony & Manny, Carlos & CJ, Jimmy and Jordan, Ron, Tommy and myself. We played football, took a drive into the woods, threw rocks into a pond (it makes more sense if you were there), ate some good cooking, had some deer coming up to our property, played board games & dominoes, laughed a lot and had a very meaningful devotion. (We even took time out to call Titi Emma who said we were sounding like a bunch of drunks.)

While we missed the guys who couldn't make it, we had another weekend we cherished and pray our sons will continue.

I’m already looking forward to doing it again this fall.
It will be here before we know it.

Tom
PS Oh yeah, TAKE LUCK.

Always a great time with the men and the boys. Long live the tradition! I hope some day the Cardona boys will join us.
